ROSBIOTECH university and LeePrime Group open a workshop for the future leaders of hospitality
The Graduate School of Hospitality Management institute and the LEEPRIME Project Workshop laboratory have opened at the Russian Biotechnological University. The new project brings together the state, industry and educational institutions, including colleges that train specialists for hospitality, and creates a distinctive platform for integrating education, practice and professional mentoring.
Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and head of the Board of Trustees of ROSBIOTECH University, explained: "Projects built on a partnership between the state, business and educational institutions create a strong professional environment and grow the hospitality industry's talent pool. Support for national projects and the introduction of modern technologies into the educational process allow students to gain sought-after competences while they are still studying".
"Today is a genuinely important event for us. The opening of the laboratory is a step towards quality training of professionals, which is the foundation of the country's resilience and leadership. The laboratory will become a centre of practical competence, a point of growth for the university and a platform for engagement with industry partners. ROSBIOTECH University has already allocated state-funded places for two full groups. Together with LeePrime Group we deliver vocational, bachelor's and master's programmes and plan to launch a specialist doctoral programme. This will let us produce specialists with two qualifications — food service technologist and hotel technology supervisor", underlined Natalya Zhukova, acting rector of ROSBIOTECH University.
LeePrime Group CEO Liliya Dorokhina added:
"We aim to strengthen the industry with ready operational specialists who are able from day one to manage service effectively, work with analytics, lead a team and take responsibility for delivering results".
Marina Frantseva, Director of the Department for the Development of Technological Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer at Russia's Ministry of Science and Higher Education, thanked the university and noted that ROSBIOTECH is demonstrating a fundamentally new format of professional training, in which it is clear from the outset for whom and for what tasks the educational model is being built. In her words, it is especially important that the university has a precise understanding of the industry's problems and offers relevant, practice-oriented solutions. She expressed confidence that this experience could become one of the best educational practices and be scaled up in future in cooperation with other universities.
The LEEPRIME Project Workshop gives students access to modern simulation classrooms, interactive materials and professional mentoring. Students will be able to develop hospitality projects, take part in professional programmes and competitions, and receive certificates confirming their competences.
The Graduate School of Hospitality Management institute and the LEEPRIME Project Workshop laboratory hold a key place in the university's educational process, bringing together students from different modes of study and fields of preparation, encouraging their participation in national hospitality projects and producing professionally prepared specialists ready to work in the hospitality industry and to high standards of service.
